Looking back, that's such crap.

When I first started in real estate, I was reading the book Atomic Habits. I was implementing one of the lessons. The lesson was to complete a task, and you can reward yourself.

My reward was always marketing. I would tell myself, "OK Alice, if you do 300 FSBO and expired calls, your reward is to can "play" and create a postcard mailer for the next holiday coming up," or "If I get up tomorrow and door-knock four blocks, I would reward myself with a Starbucks run and spend the afternoon assembling pop-bys."

My "reward" to myself wasn't a reward. I was still working in my business. It felt like something other than a job because I was obsessed with design and marketing. And you know what? Guess how I grew my business and received the most attention and leads?

Yep. You guessed it—my marketing pieces and pop-bys. In February 2020, I had just recently started my real estate business, and the world shut down.
